Building a Foundation That Lasts
At Ellerman Equine, our focus is developing confident, willing and useful horses with a foundation that carries into the arena, ranch or wherever their job may take them.
From young prospects to seasoned performance horses, we take the time to develop each horse as an individual, with an emphasis on feel, responsiveness and longevity.
Training Rate: $1,750/month
A sincere thank you to our friends and clients for your continued trust in our program. Our barns are currently full, and we are not accepting additional outside horses at this time.
Lessons
Whether you’re looking to improve your roping, horsemanship or your horse’s performance, Ellerman Equine offers individual and group instruction for a variety of experience levels.
Lessons are available at our locations in Colorado, Wyoming and Arizona, and we’re also available to travel to you.
Ground Lessons
Work on roping fundamentals, rope handling, position, timing and technique from the ground. Ground lessons are a great option for beginners as well as experienced ropers looking to sharpen the fundamentals.
Horseback Lessons with Sled
Put the fundamentals to work horseback using the sled, with an emphasis on horsemanship, position, timing and creating the right run.
Live Cattle Lessons
Individual instruction on live cattle designed around you, your horse and the areas you want to improve.
Video Lessons
Can’t make it to us? Send us videos of your runs, practice sessions or horse and we’ll review them with you.
We’ll help identify what we’re seeing, what can be improved and give you specific things to work on at home.
Bring Ellerman Equine to You
We offer single-day and multi-day schools, clinics and group lessons and can travel to your arena, ranch or facility.
Schools and group lessons can also be hosted at our locations in Colorado, Wyoming and Arizona.
Each school can be tailored to the riders attending and can incorporate team roping, horsemanship, performance-horse development and individual instruction.
Whether it’s a small group wanting a day of focused instruction or a full multi-day school, we’ll work with you to build a format that fits your riders, horses and goals.

For the Ellerman family, horses aren’t a new venture or a weekend hobby. They’ve been a way of life for generations.
Our family’s experience stretches across ranching, raising horses, horse training, professional and amateur rodeo, college and high school rodeo, AQHA competition, futurities and performance horses.
We raise some. We train some. We ranch on some. We compete on some. And some we simply enjoy riding.
